Tajikistan and Korea discussed issues of trade and economic cooperation
DUSHANBE, 28.05.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. The free economic zone “Sughd” was visited by Lee Woo Chul, Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Tajikistan, FEZ “Sughd” reports.
The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the activities of the FEZ and discuss possible areas of cooperation.
During the meeting, the head of the administration of the FEZ “Sughd” Firdavs Olimzoda noted that the Tajik and Korean peoples are linked by bonds of long-standing friendship. He stressed that Korea is one of the dynamically developing countries of the world and the development of economic ties with it can contribute to opening new opportunities in attracting investments.
Following it was delivered a presentation and video about the FEZ “Sughd”. The promising areas of bilateral cooperation in the field of mechanical engineering, textile industry, IT-technologies, as well as modern building materials were outlined.
F. Olimzoda appealed to the head of the diplomatic mission to assist in establishing contacts with the business community of the Republic of Korea, organizing joint events and trips to Korean free economic zones in order to study best practices and innovations.
Lee Woo Chul, in turn, noted that this year it is planned to hold the second meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission of Tajikistan and Korea on Economic, Scientific and Technical Cooperation, where there will be an opportunity to broadly represent the potential of the FEZ “Sughd”.
Korean Charge d’Affaires expressed his readiness to assist in establishing contacts between Tajik and Korean entrepreneurs.
The head of Korean diplomatic mission visited the technical college of the FEZ. Here an excursion to the cultural and historical places of Khujand was organized for him.
