Tajik and Kyrgyz Foreign Ministers discussed the whole range of topical issues of bilateral relations
DUSHANBE, 23.07.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. On July 21, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin, as part of the Consultative Meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Central Asia, held a bilateral meeting with his Kyrgyz counterpart Erlan Abdyldaev in Cholpon-Ata.
According to the MFA Information Department, during the talks the whole complex of topical issues of bilateral relations, prospects for further development of cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres was discussed.
The two parties also had an exchange of views on cooperation in joint countering the threats of terrorism and extremism, on speeding up the process of delimitation of the border, solving water and energy issues, as well as on issues of interaction within regional and international organizations.
The Foreign Ministers of the two countries noted that both sides are actively working to implement the agreements reached following the official visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov to the Republic of Tajikistan in February 2018.
The Ministers emphasized that the development of bilateral relations remains one of the priorities of the foreign policy of both countries.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed confidence that the existing friendly relations between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will continue to serve as a basis for further mutually beneficial cooperation and strengthening of good-neighborliness.
