DUSHANBE, 26.07.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. On July 26 in Roghun city, the Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon held a working meeting with the heads and officials of the Roghun hydropower plant /HPP/ and activists of Roghun city.

The Head of State Emomali Rahmon at the beginning of the meeting emphasized that the purpose of the meeting is to summarize the results of the completed construction works, comprehensive preparation for the commissioning ceremony of the first unit of Roghun HPP in autumn 2018 and set tasks for the next quarter of 2018.

At first it was heard a report of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Chairman of the Board of Observers of the Open Joint-Stock Company Roghun HPP Qohir Rasulzoda on the implementation of construction works at the plant.

In the report of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Chairman of the Republican staff for the construction and commissioning of the capacities of Open Joint-Stock Company Roghun HPP Qohir Rasulzoda was noted that the members of the Council of Observers took concrete measures to implement the recommendations and instructions of the Leader of the Nation and implement the Action Plan to address a complex of engineering and technical issues, comply with world standards, attract modern equipment and technology, rational use of existing equipment, control the quality of the completed construction works, and prepare future builders of grandiose objects, especially to achieve country’s energy independence.

At the meeting were also heard the reports of the General Director of Open Joint-Stock Company Roghun HPP Khairullo Safarzoda and representative of Salini Impregilo Company Luciano Ciccone on fulfilling obligations in the field of completion of construction works at the plant.

The President of the country Emomali Rahmon in the course of discussion of the works done and preparation for the commissioning of the first unit of the HPP stressed that achieving one of the national strategic goals — ensuring the country’s energy independence has a great importance for the country’s sustainable socio-economic development and improving the quality and living standards of the population.

In the period of independence giving priority to hydropower industry and the construction of new energy capacities had already yielded its fruitful results.

As a result of taken efforts and measures, for the first time, the population of Tajikistan and the socio-economic sectors were unrestrictedly provided with electricity in the winter 2017-2018.

In order to achieve other goals, the Head of State gave instructions to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, the Council of Observers of Open Joint-Stock Company Roghun HPP, the management of Open Joint-Stock Company Roghun HPP, other workers and contractors that taking advantage of every favorable moment, to make all efforts to implement the creative goals of the state and Government.

It was instructed that in order to achieve all good intentions and goals, it is necessary to fulfill duties qualitatively and to take strict control over construction works and budget funds expenditures. In addition, it is also necessary to ensure high-quality of works implementation, accessibility to high-quality building materials, close and fruitful cooperation of customer with domestic and foreign contracting firms.

In conclusion, the Head of State gave specific instructions to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan and the leadership of the HPP to develop an Action Plan for the commissioning of the first phase of Roghun HPP in autumn of this year.

Another instruction was given to the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan regarding the creation of a Republican staff for improving, landscaping and planting various decorative and shady trees along the highway Vahdat until the Roghun city.

After the completion of the work of the meeting with the participation of the members of the Council of Observers of Open Joint-Stock Company Roghun HPP was heard the report of the Chairman of Roghun city Bilol Ibrohim on the implementation of improvement and creative works.

The President of the country Emomali Rahmon highly assessed the worthy initiative of residents of the Roghun city in support of the creative policy of the leadership of state and Government of the republic and encouraged them to implement the next measures for a worthy meeting of the 30th anniversary of the State Independence of the Republic of Tajikistan.
