New EU ambassador to Tajikistan presents copy of credentials to Tajik foreign minister
On October 10, 2018, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin received the copies of Credentials of the newly appointed Head of Delegation of the European Union to the Republic of Tajikistan, Ambassador Marilyn Josefson.
According to the Tajik MFA Information Department, during the meeting the sides discussed current issues and prospects for the development of Tajikistan’s multi-faceted cooperation with the European Union.
It was expressed satisfaction with the dynamically developing relations of Tajikistan and the European Union within the framework of various mechanisms of bilateral and regional cooperation.
The interlocutors had a fruitful exchange of views on the ways of further strengthening of partnership between Tajikistan and the EU, including in the political and trade-economic areas, in the sphere of security and regional cooperation.
During the conversation the issues of the international agenda and other topics of mutual interest were also considered.
Ms. Marilyn Josefson, who had previously worked for the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the European Union in Brussels, was appointed to hed the EU Delegation to Tajikistan in September this year.
