Dushanbe hosted the next Tajik-German intergovernmental talks
DUSHANBE, 26.11.2018. /NIAT “Khovar”/. The issues for further development of cooperation between Tajikistan and Germany were discussed at the next Tajik-German intergovernmental talks in Dushanbe, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan reports.
According to the source, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan was led by the Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan Tojiddin Jurazoda and the German delegation — by the Head of the Department for Central Asia, East Asia, Laos and Cambodia of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) Ms. Kathrin Oellers.
K. Oellers noted the close cooperation of the Federal Republic of Germany and the Republic of Tajikistan in the economic sphere, and stressed that the intergovernmental talks will give impetus to increasing cooperation between the two countries.
The talks, which were held in a friendly and constructive atmosphere, took place with a view to jointly reviewing current relations and preparing intergovernmental talks on cooperation for the two-year period (2018 – 2020), which are planned for 2020 in Berlin. The delegations of both countries discussed issues of current and future cooperation.
The parties noted the main directions of bilateral cooperation in order to achieve “Sustainable Economic Development”.
At the same time, further support is provided in the following main areas: health care, the microfinance sector, energy, vocational education and innovative development.
During the talks, issues related to the implementation of projects funded by the Government of the Federal Republic of Germany were also discussed. These are rehabilitation of patients with tuberculosis, equipment of hospitals with necessary equipment, construction of a children’s tuberculosis hospital in Machiton, improvement of medical care for pregnant women and newborns, emergency and emergency medical care, construction of new schools in the Khatlon province and Rasht district, restoration of communication infrastructure.
One of the successful results of these talks is to reach an agreement on energy cooperation, namely the implementation of the “Sebzor” HPP project. The German side agreed to consider participation in this project.
A protocol was signed following the talks.
