Representatives of China’s Security Department visited Norak HPP
DUSHANBE, 08.11.2018 /NIAT “Khovar”/. Representatives of Security Department of the People’s Republic of China, as part of their working visit to Tajikistan, on October 7, visited Norak Hydroelectric Power Plant /HPP/ and got acquainted with the activities and production of electricity. NIAT “Khovar” has been reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Tajikistan.
Following this visit, the Chinese guests noted that the Republic of Tajikistan has a high potential for producing hydropower at the international level and with maximum use of opportunities can become one of the leading producers of “green energy”.
The director of Norak HPP Fazliddin Shoiddinov informed the delegation that the construction of this power plant began in 1961, and in 1979 all 9 units with a capacity of 3015 MW were operated. The power plant is located on the Vakhsh River, a 300 meter dam is considered one of the highest in the world.
Chinese delegation during the visit also got acquainted with the nature and ecological condition of Tajikistan and expressed deep gratitude for visiting such beautiful places.
