Tajik Ambassador to China Met with Chinese Journalists
DUSHANBE, 28.12.2018. (NIAT Khovar) – The Ambassador of Tajikistan to China Parviz Davlatzoda met with editors in chief of leading Chinese media and news agencies in Beijing this Thursday.
Davlatzoda congratulated those present with the 40th anniversary of China’s Reform and Opening and the upcoming New Year and briefed them on the state and prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation, reported the Embassy of Tajikistan to China.
He’s speech focused on the priorities of Tajikistan for 2019-2021, on the main provisions of the Foreign Policy Concept of the Republic of Tajikistan and on the State of the Nation Address of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon made on Wednesday.
Tajik Ambassador informed the audience about the midterm review of the implementation of the International Decade for Action, Water for Sustainable Development 2018-2028 by the United Nations General Assembly on December 20, 2018. Tajikistan’s presidency in the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) and preparations for the 5th Summit of the Heads of State of CICA member countries were also noted.
Representatives of the Chinese media talked about the peculiarities of their country’s information policy and their priorities.
An expansion of cooperation with the Tajik media was proposed, with the focus being the announcements of important events for the socio-political and expert circles of both Tajikistan and China. Establishing a channel for mutual and reliable information, as well as continuing the practice of organizing mutual press tours on various topics was likewise discussed.
Following the meeting, the participants agreed to continue their constructive cooperation in covering events of mutual interest.
