UN Unanimously Adopts a Resolution Proposed by Tajikistan
DUSHANBE, 21.12.2018 (NIAT Khovar) – On December 20, the United Nations General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution proposed by Tajikistan called the Midterm Comprehensive Review of the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development” 2018-2028.
The resolution was co-sponsored by 190 UN members, reported the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
This resolution is aimed at implementing the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development” 2018-2028 made at the initiative of the President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.
The designated decade’s goal is the promotion of sustainable development and integrated water resource management, implementation and promotion of relevant programs and projects, as well as furthering cooperation and increasing partnerships to support the implementation of the internationally agreed on goals and targets related to water resources.
