Tajik Ambassador and Turkish Associations Discuss Regional Policy Issues
DUSHANBE, 05.02.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Ambassador of Tajikistan to Turkey Mahmadali Rajabiyon held a meeting with representatives of various associations and intelligentsia of Turkey in Ankara.
Adviser to the Tajik Ambassador in Turkey Parviz Sodiki, Director of the Strategic Institute of Turkey Mohammed Savash Kafkasyali, Professor of Language Studies Saadettin Kodzhaturk and Institute’s representatives attended the meeting.
“On January 29, 2019 we marked the 27th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Tajikistan and Turkey. Turkey is an important ally and trading partner of Tajikistan. Relations and cooperation with Turkey have become a priority of Tajikistan’s foreign policy. Our countries have a common position on most important international and regional policy issues,” said Rajabiyon.
“More than 65 treaties, agreements and other documents on cooperation in various fields were signed between Tajikistan and Turkey over 27 years. About 30 projects on bilateral cooperation are under consideration,” mentioned Rajabiyon.
“In 2018, the volume of trade turnover between Tajikistan and Turkey totaled $ 400 million. Today there are no barriers to achieve the volume of trade turnover between our countries up to $ 1 billion,” concluded Rajabiyon.
A presentation on the investment climate in Tajikistan was shown to the attendees. The meeting participants got acquainted with the legislation of Tajikistan, the activities of free economic zones and the most important investment projects.
