Tajikistan and the EU Expand Cooperation
DUSHANBE, 14.03.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The Chairman of the Assembly of Representatives Committee on International Affairs, Public Associations and Information Olim Salimzoda met with the Special Representative of the European Union for Central Asia Peter Burian and his colleagues today in Dushanbe.
The parties discussed the issued relating to the search for new ways to expand bilateral cooperation at all levels and directions, reports the Press Cecretary of the Assembly of Representatives Muhammadato Sultonov.
“Since the establishment of friendly relations between Tajikistan and the European Union, multilateral cooperation has been steadily strengthened,” noted Salimzoda.
“Tajikistan considers the European Union as an integral part of an international alliance, which corresponds to democratic reforms in the country, the rule of law, human rights, and the attraction of foreign investments to the priorities of the national economy,” added Salimzoda.
“The Partnership and Cooperation Agreement and the EU Strategy for the Central Asian countries are an important tool for regulating the stability and prosperity of Tajikistan and the European Union, as well as determining the level and content of mutually beneficial cooperation,” emphasized Salimzoda.
