Aviation Authorities of Tajikistan and Qatar Negotiate in Doha
DUSHANBE, 23.04.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Negotiations between the aviation authorities of Tajikistan and Qatar began on April 21 in Doha, reported the Tajik Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The talks are chaired by the Director of the Tajik Civil Aviation Agency Ikrom Subhonzoda and the Chairman of Qatar’s Civil Aviation Authority Abdullah bin Nasser Al-Subaey.
Subhonzoda and Al-Subaey discussed the execution of instructions of the leaders of the two states to expand cooperation in the field of international transportation and the practical implementation of the Intergovernmental Agreement on Air Traffic, which was signed during President Emomali Rahmon’s official visit to Qatar in February 2017.
The parties exchanged their views on the development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the aviation authorities of Tajikistan and Qatar and the development of a Technical Cooperation Program between the two countries, the establishment of a direct aviation link between Dushanbe and Doha, and the capabilities of airports and logistics centers of the two countries in order to expand ties in the trade, economic, investment and tourism sectors.
The negotiations between the delegations will end today, April 23.
Earlier on April 21, Subhonzoda met with the Qatari Minister of Transport and Communications Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti.
During the meeting, the parties discussed issues relating to the development of Tajik-Qatari cooperation in the field of civil aviation, its role in enhancing trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as the possibility of jointly implementing investment projects in the field of international air transport.
The Qatari side expressed its readiness to assist Tajikistan in the education and training of professional personnel for the development of civil aviation.
