Kulob To Host International Investment Forum in June
DUSHANBE, 30.05.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – The International Investment Forum will be held on June 13-14 at the Abuabdullo Rudaki State University in Kulob, reported the State Committee for Investments and State Property Management of Tajikistan.
Nearly 20 foreign investors from Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, China, European and other countries, as well as domestic entrepreneurs is expected to take part in it. The forum will bring together over 300 participants.
“The forum will focus on attracting investment companies to Khatlon province. In past years, such forums were held in Dushanbe. This year, the strategy has changed a bit. The forum will be held in Kulob, and later in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region,” said the Deputy Head of the Investment Promotion Department of the State Committee for Investment and State Property Management of Tajikistan Izatullo Nurullozoda.
“The main goal of the forum is to present the investment opportunities of Tajikistan and attract investments to our country, to increase the export potential of the Khatlon province. There will also be presented the rich tourist opportunities of our republic. The forum will host an exhibition of local producers of artisan goods and products. Such events are of great importance for the development of the economy and are a good platform for building business contacts,” said the Deputy Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Khatlon province.
“The mutually beneficial cooperation with foreign investors and entrepreneurs has allowed to attract more than $ 5 billion in the economy over the past 5 years, including almost $ 2 billion of direct investment. As a result, the share of the private sector amounted to 70% of GDP, which is 12% higher than in previous years,” said President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon in his speech at the International Forum of Entrepreneurs in 2018 entitled Development of Entrepreneurship, Investment And Modern Economic Trends.
The free economic zones of Panj and Dangara, which serve as a platform for attracting more foreign direct investment, are successfully developing in the Khatlon province.
