Deputies of the Assembly of Representatives Resume Their Work After Summer Vacation
DUSHANBE, 16.08.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – Deputies of the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan begin their work after their nearly two month summer break.
People’s deputies began to work on the committees and commissions of the Assembly of Representatives since August 15, reported the Press Secretary of the Assembly of Representatives Muhammadato Sultonov.
According to the directive of the Assembly of Representatives, starting from October, the Assembly will hold meetings in Dushanbe.
Currently, the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan has 63 deputies, who have been elected for a five-year term by secret ballot during the parliamentary elections.
The final meeting of the fifth session of the Assembly of Representatives of the Supreme Assembly of Tajikistan (fifth convocation) was held in Dushanbe on June 28.
During the meeting, the Chairman of the Assembly of Representatives Shukurjon Zukhurov noted that for the reporting period, 24 decisions have been made on 171 issues at the 24 meetings of this higher legislative institute.
In particular, 97 laws, amendments and additions to existing laws and codes, 23 intergovernmental agreements, and other programs and acts have been adopted.
