President Emomali Rahmon Visits the Khovaling District
DUSHANBE, 07.08.2019. (NIAT Khovar) – Upon completing his working tour to the Baljuvon district, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon arrived in the Khovaling district in Khatlon to participate in a number of opening ceremonies, to meet with the locals and to check on the prepatpry works for the upcoming 30th anniversary of the state independence.
The opening ceremony of the Secondary Educational Institution No. 4 which was built to accommodate 920 students in the village of Lohuti kicked off the series of proceeding opening ceremonies in the district. During the ceremony, President Emomali Rahmon spoke with the students and mentioned that the government has been taking concrete steps to create favorable conditions for the education and upbringing of future generations.
The Trading Enterprise Center which was built to facilitate in the promotion of the 2019-2021 years as the Period of Rural Development, Tourism and Craft and the new Regional Hospital No. 2 which was financed by local entrepreneurs for the amount of 1.2 million somoni and the administrative building are some of the new addition to the Lohuti village.
Praising the quality of construction work carried out in the village, President Emomali Rahmon gave specific instructions to employees to improve their services.
In the Dorobi village, President Emomali Rahmon attended the agricultural exhibition and got acquainted with the progress of crop cultivation in the trade cooperative Surush-1.
In the first six months of 2019, Khovaling district produced 16.5 million somoni worth of agricultural products, which is 4% more than during the same period last year. The territory utilized for growing has also increased. In addition, this year, new gardens have been created in an area encompassing 137 hectares. The number of bee colonies has likewise increased, reaching 4,143 and annually producing up to 60 tons of quality honey. Local beekeepers hope to raise the number to 70 tons this year.
Besides beekeeping, in recent years, fish farming has also raised in popularity in the Khovaling district. In the six-hectare pools famers grow carp, grass carp, trout and other fish. Over the past three years, the number of cattle has also seen a spike, reaching over 57,000.
Following the unveiling ceremony of a 800-square-meter cultural and recreational park which includes the National Emblem and the National Flag and which was built by Tajikistan’s Football Federation in honor of the 30th anniversary of Tajikistan’s independence, President Emomali Rahmon proceeded to the unveiling ceremony of a youth center. Speaking to those in attendance, President Emomali Rahmon noted the importance of educating the youth in the spirit of patriotism, so that they can contribute to the development of Tajikistan.
As Khovaling is also known for its jewelry, blacksmithing, leather product, wooden plates, basket weaving, Chakan embroidering, goldwork embroidery, knitting, and carpet weaving, at the National Exhibition of Economic Achievements and Tourism of Khovaling district visitors were familiarized not only with the items from each of the crafts, but also with the tourist opportunities of the district. A draft concept for the development of tourism in the region for 2019-2025 was also featured in the exhibition.
Continuing his visit, the head of state put into operation a new modern Department of Surgery and Children’s Department in the Central Hospital of Khovaling and a local branch of the Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan in Khovaling district.
President Emomali Rahmon met with local activists and residents. Speaking highly of the efforts of Khovaling residents in the overall prosperity of the district, he expressed hope that its residents will continue to facilitate in the implementation of the constructive policy of the government with double energy and will prepare well for the 30th anniversary of state independence.
Ending his speech, he gave specific instructions to the leadership of relevant ministries and agencies, and the local executive body of state authorities of the district to improve the indicators of economic and social development of Khovaling.
Closing his trip, President Emomali Rahmon took part in the opening ceremony of the newly built History-Ethnography Museum named after the hero of the Tajik people – Vose and attended the gala event dedicated to the 28 anniversary of state independence, which took place at the Central Stadium of Khovaling district with the participation of 10,000 people.
In his speech, President Emomali Rahmon expressed gratitude to all the patriotic residents of Khovaling for their support of the constructive policy of the government.
He noted that due to the effort and work of residents, including entrepreneurs, the administrative center of Khovaling become more comfortable and beautiful during the period of independence.
