President Emomali Rahmon Made a Working Trip to Faizobod
DUSHANBE, 20.09.2019. (NIAT Khovar) –The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in Faizobod in order to get acquainted with its socio-economic development, construction and landscaping works, and to speak with the locals.
The working visit began with the Exhibition of Agricultural Products which showcased the district’s products and achievements in the agriculture sector, in particular its production of cereals, vegetables, melons, potatoes, fruits and other agricultural crops.
The farmers of Faizobod cultivated about 7,000 ha of agricultural crops, including 2500 ha of grains, 700 ha of vegetables, 820 ha of potatoes and 1,000 ha of fodder crops. The area of gardens and vineyards in the region is 5970 ha, out of which 4,500 ha are used for growing apples. Approximately 650 hectares of new gardens have been created in the district just in the past two years.
The visit to the Khayriddin Agricultural Farm which specializes in seedlings grown in greenhouses was followed by opening ceremonies for sports grounds and two multifunctional four-story service centers, which in turn was followed by a foundation laying ceremony for the administrative building of the Department of Education and a wreath-laying ceremony at National Emblem in the Administrative center of Faizobod.
Continuing his working trip, President Emomali Rahmon visited the Exhibition of Achievements of Domestic Industry which included local companies’ products relating to horticulture, vegetable farming, husbandry and poultry farming. Experienced farmers supply environmentally healthy products not only to local markets but also export them abroad. The district’s industrial enterprises have reached an output of 22.3 million somoni in the first eight months of this year.
The Ganji Hilol Poultry which specializes in the production of eggs and poultry, also participated in the exhibition. The poultry farm housed nearly 600,000 birds and in the first eight months of this year has produced over 58 million eggs, with the goal of reaching 90 million by the end of the year.
The State Forestry Institution of Fayzobod showcased their fruits, including dried fruits, nuts, bitter almonds, rose hips, grains and medicinal herbs. Its employees have harvested 300 kg of medicinal herbs and flowers this season.
Along with the agricultural sector, beekeeping is also widely established in the region, with honey production increasing every year. Local beekeepers have produced 62 tons of quality honey just in the first eight months of this year. Hoji Sharif, which was established in 2004, has alone produced 12 tons of quality honey within the last two years.
The opening ceremony for the 957-square-meter sport grounds, which includes fields for mini-football, basketball, and volleyball, followed the list. It was mentioned that the main building covers an area of 957,3 square meters. The facility was financed and built by local businessmen.
Next, President Emomali Rahmon took part in the opening ceremony for a new building for the Secondary Educational Institution No. 64, which was also built by local businessmen. The school will accommodate 640 students in two shifts. During his tour of the school, President Emomali Rahmon praised the quality of the construction and thanked the local businessmen for their support of state policies.
Following the unveiling ceremony of the new building of the State Fire Service, which was built by the support of the government of Tajikistan, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the district, President Emomali Rahmon met with the local disabled people and orphaned children and congratulated them on 28th anniversary of independence. Thirty-two orphans from nine communities of the district received gifts and two disabled children received keys to their new apartments.
Also on this day, on behalf of President Emomali Rahmon, financial assistance was provided to 300 local families.
The head of state Emomali Rahmon also held a meeting with local residents and congratulated them with the 28th anniversary of state independence and expressed his gratitude for their warm reception and for their support of government policies.
Analysis of the district’s development shows that with the support of the government, effort of the hardworking people and local entrepreneurs, the district is now home to dozens of new socio-economic facilities. Hundreds of new jobs have been created as a result of creation of additional governmental institutions and new businesses. Since independence, the government has allocated more than 445 million somoni for the development of the district. In addition, the infrastructure of the district has been significantly improved within the framework of five state investment projects worth over 300 million somoni.
In order to facilitate the district’s development and solve its social problems, Faizobod’s socio-economic development program though 2020 includes 158 new projects totaling 269 million somoni.
As part of the upcoming celebration of the 30th anniversary of state independence in 2021, 352 more facilities are planned to be built or renovated within the next two years. To date, 117 facilities have already been built, more than eight kilometers of inter-district roads have been rehabilitated and six kilometers of water pipes have been laid.
President Emomali Rahmon called for local officials together with relevant state structures to facilitate in establishing small enterprises for processing agricultural products and building materials, as well as establishing cooperation with entrepreneurs and investors. Other instructions were also given to the district leadership and officials to improve the district’s medical services and the quality of education. He assured the residents that the implementation of governmental programs and measures planned toward the anticipated celebration of the 30th anniversary of independence will lead to further development and improvement of the district.
Concluding his trip, President Emomali Rahmon inspected the project designs for the town of Somoniyon and laid the foundation stone for the construction of the 30 ha town. The project includes 65 houses, sports fields for football, volleyball, basketball, a school for 520 students, a kindergarten which will accommodate 200 children, a gym for 300, a national teahouse, a swimming pool, administrative offices, a public center, a small-scale manufacturing company, handicraft enterprises, trade and service centers, squares, among other things.
The project is being financed by local entrepreneurs led by Manuchehr Karimzoda, the head of MK Inshoot LLC.
