President Emomali Rahmon Made a Working Trip to Kulob city of Khatlon Province
DUSHANBE, 11.09.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – On September 10, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon arrived in the city of Kulob in the Khatlon Province in order to become familiar with the socio-economic development of the region, took part in the opening ceremonies of a number of facilities, and attended the event dedicated to the 28th anniversary of state independence.
The working visit began with the inspection of the Kulob Agro-Industrial Complex which specializes in greenhouse produced vegetables.
The farmers plan to increase the number of greenhouses for growing other trees and also plan to farm fish. The plan includes planting lemons on an area of 10 ha, vineyards on 15 ha, intensive orchards on 10 ha, building reservoirs for growing fish on 2 ha, an enterprise for processing fruits and vegetables for production up to 2.5 million cans per year, and opening an Agro-Industrial College.
Following his familiarization with the activities of the complex, President Emomali Rahmon visited an agricultural exhibition.
Agricultural production in Kulob has increased, reaching 145 million somoni this year.
The area has produced 24.6 thousand tons of vegetables, 470 tons of melons, and 790 tons of fruits.
Visiting the Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadoni Mausoleum, President Emomali Rahmon paid tribute to the memory of this great poet, thinker and philosopher.
This was followed by an opening ceremony for the Safar Amirshoev Square Park, which in turn was followed by opening ceremonies for the Cultural and Recreational Park named after Saidali Valizoda, the Khutalon Cultural and Recreational Park, as well as the Kulob Central Cultural — Recreational Park named after Mir Sayyid Ali Hamadoni.
The opening ceremony for the Suman Poultry farming, which was built by local entrepreneurs, followed the list. The poultry farm will house 200,000 birds, and in the first phase has already been farming 50,000 birds. Its production capacity is 150,000 eggs per day.
Next in the schedule was the opening ceremony of a new building for the Executive Committee of the People’s Democratic Party of Tajikistan in Kulob and one for the new 13 story residential building. A festive banquet was held there for 190 orphan children. The children were presented with gifts on behalf of President Emomali Rahmon.
Continuing his working trip in Kulob, President Emomali Rahmon visited Sangak Safarov Street and commissioned a high-rise residential building, which was build by the initiative of businessman Alisher Akramov.
In addition, President Emomali Rahmon inaugurated a three story service center called Mother and Child.
Following the unveiling ceremony of a Regional Medical Center of Cardiac Diseases, which is equipped with state-of-the-art medical equipment and devices, President Emomali Rahmon attended the unveiling ceremony of a Republican Art College named after Karomatullo Kurbonov.
This was followed by the opening ceremony of the Secondary Educational Institution No. 45, which was built in the Borbad area in honor of 30th anniversary of state independence of Tajikistan.
The three-story school accommodates 1,200 students in two shifts. President Following the ceremony, President Emomali Rahmon spoke with the students and encouraged them to learn foreign languages.
President Emomali Rahmon also attended the opening ceremony for the Regional Perinatal Center. This center is the first in the country and has no analogues in the region. The center was established under the auspices of the government within the framework of the implementation of the Maternal and Child Health and Emergency Care Program.
The center has an emergency medical care unit, diagnostic and out-patient departments, a maternity unit, mother and child’s rooms, intensive care units, newborn resuscitation department, newborn surgical patient department, etc.
The center has 106 beds and 225 patient rooms, including auxiliary rooms.
President Emomali Rahmon also laid a foundation stone for the reconstruction of Kulob-Kala Khumb highway which connects the Kulob to Shamsiddin Shohin district.
The length of the Kulob-Shamsiddin Shohin section of the highway is 32.7 kilometers.
From here President Rahmon proceeded to lay the foundation stone for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of inter-city roads, which will be built by China Road and Bridge Corporation by the grant funds from the Chinese government.
He also inspected the first part of the building of the Secondary Educational Institution No. 43.
The three story school which accommodates 1,250 people in two shifts is being financed by the government and being constructed by the Center for Coordination of Projects on Rehabilitation and Development of Infrastructure Facilities under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan.

The opening ceremony for the Cultural and Recreational Center was also attended by President Emomali Rahmon. The center was opened on the day of the national holiday — Independence Day and became a worthy gift of local entrepreneurs to residents and guests of Kulob for 2019-2021 within the declared Period of Rural Development, Tourism and Folk Crafts.
