Tajikistan and Germany Hold Intergovernmental Consultations
DUSHANBE, 07.11.2019 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajik and German intergovernmental consultations on bilateral cooperation were held on November 5 in Dushanbe.
The Tajik delegation was headed by the head of the Department for Cooperation with the WTO of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade Abdurahmon Abdurahmonzoda and the German delegation was led by the referent for cooperation with Tajikistan and Central Asian countries at the Federal Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany Klaus Tanzberger.
The consultations focused on an actual issues relating to bilateral cooperation.
One of the successful results of the intergovernmental talks was the signing of financial and technical cooperation agreements, according to which the German side will provide grant funds in the amount of €31 million for bilateral cooperation projects, including €17 million for the construction of the Sebzor HPP.
The parties confirmed that the program of the main direction of cooperation for health sector development should help to reduce maternal and child mortality as well as to combat the most serious diseases in Tajikistan, such as tuberculosis.
The next Tajik and German intergovernmental consultations will be held in 2020 in Berlin.
