Tajik MFA Holds Briefing on Explaining the Current Requirements for Preventing a New Coronavirus
DUSHANBE, 16.03.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – On Friday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan in collaboration with the Ministry of Health and Social Protection of the Population, Civil Aviation Agency, medical-sanitary unit of the Dushanbe International Airport and the WHO Representative Office in Tajikistan held a briefing for diplomatic corps and international organizations accredited in Dushanbe on explaining the current requirements for preventing a new coronavirus (COVID-19).
In his speech, the Deputy Minister of Health and Social Protection of the Population of Tajikistan Mirhamuddin Kamolzoda informed about the measures taken to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the country and the sanitary and epidemiological requirements at border points.
Also, the head of the WHO Representative Office in Tajikistan Galina Perfilieva informed about the spread of the virus in the world and compliance with Organization’s sanitary requirements and recommendations.
It was noted that citizens who had been in China, South Korea, Italy, Iran, Afghanistan and Japan for the past 13 days and arrived in Tajikistan will be quarantined for 14 days.
Following the briefing, representatives of diplomatic corps received specific answers to their questions from senior officials of the country’s institutions.
