Chinese National Army Assists Tajik Ministry of Defense With 2.7 Million Somoni Worth of Supplies to Fight COVID-19
DUSHANBE, 14.05.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – To assist Tajikistan in its fights against COVID-19, China has sent a humanitarian aid package. This aid consists of 13 items of medical equipment and supplies, the total amount of which is more than 2 million yuan, equivalent to 2.7 million somoni.
Officials of the Ministry of Defense received the aid package at the Dushanbe International Airport and thanked their Chinese counterparts for their timely assistance and mutually beneficial cooperation, said the spokesman for the Ministry of Defense Orif Nozimiyon.
Nozimiyon added that military and technical cooperation between the Tajik and Chinese Ministries of Defense began in 1993 and is currently in the development stage.
The Chinese National Army’s humanitarian aid to Tajikistan will be utilized by military doctors of the Ministry of Defense only to protect the country’s population from the spread of COVID-19.
