CIS Observers Will Monitor the Presidential Elections

DUSHANBE, 15.09.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – Observers from the Interparliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States (IPA CIS) will monitor the presidential election in Tajikistan, reports the IPA CIS’s Press Center.
“The Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council received a letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan inviting international observers from the IPA CIS to participate in monitoring the preparation of the presidential election in Tajikistan,” read the press release.
The composition of the monitoring group will be determined soon from among the representatives of parliaments — members of the IPA CIS, employees of the Secretariat of the IPA CIS Council and experts, which will take part in the observation of the elections.
The presidential election in Tajikistan is scheduled for October 11.
