President Emomali Rahmon Made a Working Trip to Tursunzoda

DUSHANBE, 07.09.2020. (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited Tursunzoda. He was accompanied by the Chairman of the National Assembly Rustam Emomali, Deputy Prime Minister and other officials.
The purpose of his working visit was to get acquainted with the implementation of the development program of gardening and wine growing in Tajikistan for 2016 — 2020, efficient use of household lands, re-sowing, increasing the agricultural output and productivity, as well as supplying the domestic market with quality and organic products.
The working trip began with the cotton-harvesting campaign in the Dusti Agricultural Cooperative which features 709 hectares of both rainfed and irrigated agriculture, of which nearly 200 hectares is devoted to cotton.
The Dusti Agricultural Cooperative have extensive experience in growing other types of crops, such as cereals, vegetables, legumes, as well as orchards and vineyards.
The average yield of wheat in the Dusti farm is over 3,700 kilogram per hectare, legumes over 400 kg per hectare, linseed 3,600 kg, potatoes over 3,000 kg, and the yield of vegetables is 3,012 kg per one hectare.
While visiting the Hakikat farm, which specializes in growing rice and wheat, President Rahmon took part in the starting of rice-harvesting campaign. Hakikat farm covers 887 hectares.
In order to provide the domestic market with high-quality rice, Tursunzoda farmers sowed rice in an area of 4,018 hectares.
In the first seven months of 2020 Tursunzoda farmers produced agricultural product worth 322,622,000 somoni, which is 12,579,000 somoni more than in the same period of last year.
Next, President Rahmon took part in the launching ceremony of the Ravshan Electrical Power Substation following its reconstruction. The substation will supplies electricity to Tursunzoda and Shahrinav consumers.
Since independence, a major creative initiative has been taken to implement one of the most important strategic goals — ensuring energy independence, in which small and large-scale hydropower plants have been built and modernized in all cities and districts of the country.
This was followed by the opening ceremony for the Nuri Shifo Medical Center, which was built by a local entrepreneur Jurakhon Khojamkulov.
After getting acquainted with the working conditions there, President Rahmon attended the unveiling ceremony of the National Flag Square in Tursunzoda Admnistrative center, with a 50-meter flagpole.
The opening ceremony for Sardor 2008, a food processing enterprise with high-quality machinery for the production of chips, crackers, corn flakes, chewing gum, halva, and sunflower seeds, followed the list, followed by a visit to the Hoji Nemat agricultural farm where President Rahmon inspected the process of preparation of raisins, which is carried out by a special method.
This particular method of drying grapes has been established in cooperation with experienced farmers of Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Hoji Nemat has 2.75 hectare of land, of which more than 1.30 hectares is made up of vineyards and the rest is planted with potatoes, cucumbers and tomatoes.
President Rahmon also visited the Somon and Vatan Gardens in Tursunzoda, which specializes in grapes.
Dushanbe and the agricultural farms of Tursunzoda signed bilateral cooperation agreements in the presence of the Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali to supply the capital with healthy fruits and vegetables and other essential goods in the coming autumn-winter period.
