Tajikistan, Saudi Arabia to Expand Bilateral, Regional Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 27.10.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – On 26 October in Riyadh, the Tajik Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Akram Karimi held a meeting with the Saudi foreign ministry’s undersecretary for multilateral international affairs Abdulrahman bin Ibrahim Al-Rassi, the Tajik Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
“During the meeting, issues of cooperation between the two friendly countries within the framework of international and regional organizations were discussed,» the statement said.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the first Arab country that opened its diplomatic mission in Tajikistan on January 2010 as a follow up to the Tajik Embassy inauguration in Saudi Arabia in 2008.
President Emomali Rahmon has paid three visits to Saudi Arabia (1997, 2001, 2005) over the past 20 years of bilateral relations, thus setting up legal framework that regulates bilateral relations between the two countries.
