First Deputy FM Noziri Held Online Meeting With Korean Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs on Political Affairs

DUSHANBE, 10.11.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, per Korean side initiative, the First Deputy Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Khusrav Noziri held an online meeting with the Korean Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs on Political Affairs Kim Gunn in order to prepare for the 13th Central Asia — Korea Cooperation Forum, which is scheduled for November 25 in Seoul at the ministerial level.
It was emphasized that cooperation with Korea, including within Central Asia — Korea Cooperation Forum and other mechanisms of regional cooperation, is of particular importance for Tajikistan.
Tajikistan considers the Forum as an important tool for the development and strengthening of friendly relations between its member-countries.
The parties attached particular importance to expanding regional cooperation in the spheres of health care, education, standardization and environmental protection, which will become the main topics of subsequent online meetings of the Forum. They also exchanged views on the draft Working Plan of the Forum Secretariat for 2021.
Likewise they touched upon the implementation of the agreements reached during the high-level visits, signing new bilateral documents, organization of joint events in various formats, in particular within the framework of the sessions of the Joint Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan and Korea.
The officials noted the importance of further expanding trade, economic, investment, scientific and technical ties between the two countries, as well as inter-parliamentary cooperation, development of cooperation in the fields of industry, energy, culture, tourism, labor migration, and the expansion of bilateral relations between Tajikistan and Korea within the framework of international and regional organizations, and cooperation of the two countries in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
