Tajik Ambassador Meets with Russian Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities

DUSHANBE, 02.12.2020 (NIAT Khovar) – The Ambassador of Tajikistan to Russia Imomuddin Sattorov met with the Russian Minister of Construction, Housing and Utilities Irek Faizullin.
The officials exchanged views on the results of the National Assembly Speaker Rustami Emomali’s visit to Russia and the agreements reached during negotiations with the Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly, the leadership of the State Duma, the Deputy Prime Minister and the Mayor of Moscow.
Sattorov noted the interest of Tajikistan in using the opportunities of Russian businesses in investing in the construction sector, industry and other infrastructure projects. The need to strengthen interaction at the interdepartmental level was also emphasized.
An exchange of views took place on the current epidemiological situation associated with the coronavirus pandemic, the negative consequences of which affected the development of the economic and social sectors of all states of the region.
Sattorov noted that in the current situation, many labor migrants, along with Russian citizens, were left without earnings and means of subsistence due to the reduction in the labor market and the spheres of their labor activity. In particular, considerable number of Tajik labor migrants are involved in the areas of construction, maintenance, provision of services and contribute to the development of the economy and the entire social sphere of Russia.
Due attention was also paid to the issues of attracting highly qualified specialists from among Tajik citizens to the construction sector. In this context, a thorough exchange of views took place on the elaboration of mechanisms for further interaction within the framework of the signed agreement between the Takikh and Russian governments on the organized recruitment of Tajik citizens for temporary work in Russia.
Faizullin expressed his readiness to further expand cooperation in this direction, stressing the need for joint development of mechanisms for interdepartmental interaction.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their mutual desire to strengthen cooperation in this direction.
