DUSHANBE, 16.02.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Currently, over 260 women and children from Tajikistan are in the camps in al-Hawl and al-Ravj in Syria. This was declared yesterday at a press conference by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin.
According to him, per President Emomali Rahmon’s instruction on repatriating Tajik women and children from the war-torn countries of the Middle East, Tajik diplomats paid a working visit to Syrian al-Khawl and al-Ravj camps in December 2020, where they met with Tajik citizens.
“The Ministry has authorized the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Syria to closely cooperate with the government of Syria,” in order to repatriate those currently in the camps, Muhriddin noted.
