President Emomali Rahmon Holds a Telephone Conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin

DUSHANBE, 24.04.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon had a telephone conversation with President of Russia Vladimir Putin.
The discussion covered matters of bilateral Tajik- Russia relations with a focus on trade, economy, education, labor migration, health care as well as cultural and humanitarian cooperation.
Both sides expressed their desire to increase supplies of environmentally healthy fruit and vegetables to the Russian market.
The progress in the implementation of construction of five secondary schools in Tajikistan with Russian-language lessons, return of Tajik students Russian universities, increasing the number of flights between the two countries were also discussed.
During the exchange of views on regional and international matters, the sides also touched upon the latest development in Afghanistan.
The counterparts stressed the need to take further steps to realize the vast potential of the strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Russia with an emphasis on coordination of initiatives of the two sides within the framework of international and regional organizations.
The parties agreed to work closely in the context of Tajikistan’s presidency in the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in 2021.
Concluding the talks, President Putin congratulated the people of Tajikistan with the holy month of Ramadan.
