Tajikistan and the EU Discuss Development of Bilateral Cooperation

DUSHANBE, 18.06.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the European Union (EU) High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell on the sidelines of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum.
The parties discussed the development of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and the EU, implementation of the new EU Strategy for Central Asia and implementation of joint projects.
They noted the importance of developing relations between the EU and Tajikistan in the framework of Cooperation Council, Cooperation Committee, as well as political and security and human rights dialogues.
The meeting also focused on the issues related to security and stability in the region, situation in Afghanistan, threats of terrorism and extremism, matters of international agenda, as well as other topics of mutual interest.
