Foreign Minister Meets U.S. Secretary of State

DUSHANBE, 02.07.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday in Washington DC, the Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin held a meeting with the U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations between Tajikistan and the United States in the political, economic, energy, security, tourism, health and humanitarian spheres, cooperation within the framework of USAID programs, as well as joint efforts to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection.
The ministers also exchanged views on international and regional cooperation.
While considering the situation in the region, they noted the need to strengthen cooperation in the joint efforts to fight against modern threats and challenges, including terrorism, extremism, drug trafficking and other transnational organized crime.
