President Emomali Rahmon Meets the Heads of Delegations Attending the CSTO PA Council Session

DUSHANBE, 02.07.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the heads of delegations taking part in the session of the Council of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization.
The meeting addressed ensuring a more effective and beneficial cooperation in military-political, as well as defense and security spheres.
“With the CSTO chairmanship, Tajikistan pays special attention to the consistent implementation of an Action Plan reached during previous meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council,» noted Rahmon.
While discussing issues related to the fight against terrorism, extremism, radicalism and transnational organized crime, including drug trafficking and cybercrime, he emphasized the need to join efforts and closely coordinate intelligence agencies of states to effectively combat these threats.
The discussion also focused on the political situation in Afghanistan and stressed that Tajikistan will continue to support the efforts of Afghan officials, as well as the international community for achieving peace and national accord in Afghanistan.
