Representatives Assembly Speaker Meets Newly Elected Iranian President

DUSHANBE, 05.08.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Representatives Assembly Speaker Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda met with the newly elected President of Iran Sayyid Ebrahim Raisi.
Zokirzoda expressed his gratitude to President Raisi for the invitation and added that the expansion of friendly relations and fruitful cooperation with Iran is a priority area in Tajikistan’s foreign policy.
“Both states have mutual interest at the regional level. It is this factor, as well as inextricable cultural and historical ties that impel us to develop and expand mutually beneficial cooperation,” Zokirzoda said.
He noted that Representatives Assembly pays special attention to cooperation with Iran, and through the Friendship Group Assembly considers issues related to legislation, expansion of economic ties, and other important issues.
