DUSHANBE, 28.09.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Following his working trip to Roshtkala, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon visited Shugnon, where he opened a mini football field built by the Football Federation of Tajikistan as a holiday gift to the youth of this remote district.
While meeting with 35 orphans and vulnerable children with disabilities, President Rahmon presented them with material assistance packages.
The opening ceremony of the modern administrative building of the local Agency for Labor, Migration and Employment, as well as a ceremony for the construction of the future State Flag Square in the administrative center of the Shugnon followed the list.
In his meeting with the locals, President Rahmon noted that the government is continuing to ensure sustainable socio-economic development and has so far channeled more than 530 billion somoni to the area.
He added that since gaining state independence, the government has channeled a total of 1.9 billion somoni from funding sources for the development of infrastructure of Shugnan.
He emphasized that eight public investment projects worth more than 36 million somoni have been implemented in the district, with four more underway.
“As per the Program for the Socio-Economic Development of Shignon for 2016-2020, 63 projects worth 80 million somoni have been implemented,” said President Rahmon.
Local entrepreneurs of Shugnan have built 79 facilities in anticipation of the 30th anniversary of state independence, totaling more than 75 million somoni, within the framework of which more than 600 people have been provided with jobs.
There are 60 business entities in Shugnon, which is twice more than a decade ago, and which directly contributes to the realization of one of the national goals — rapid industrialization of the country.
Since gaining independence, 41 new buildings of educational institutions for 6,200 students worth 33 million somoni have been built and put into operation in Shugnon.
In addition, 30 health facilities have been built and put into operation, while 26 other facilities have been overhauled.
