Tajik Delegation Participates at the annual Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries

On the sidelines of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly, the delegation of the Republic of Tajikistan participated and addressed the annual Ministerial Meeting of the Group of Landlocked Developing Countries.
In his statement, high-level representative of the Republic of Tajikistan attached particular importance to the implementation of the Vienna Program of Action, calling it a necessary requirement for all landlocked developing countries to integrate into the global economy and achieve Sustainable Development Goals. The measures taken by Tajikistan to address the socio-economic consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic was among other topics that were reflected in their speech.
The head of the delegation of Tajikistan also touched upon energy and transport issues, outlining them as priority areas for Tajikistan, and called on the other participants to take full advantage of the opportunities provided by the Water Action Decade “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028” to promote the timely implementation of the set development goals.
