Tajik Athletes Will Take Part in the Men’s World Boxing Championships in Belgrade
DUSHANBE, 15.10.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – The Tajik boxing delegation will take part in the 11th Men’s World Boxing Championships, reports the National Olympic Committee of Tajikistan.
The delegation consists of Abdurahmon Yakubov (60 kg), Bahodur Usmonov (63.5 kg), Saidikrom Amonov (67 kg), Abdumalik Boltaev (75 kg), Shabbos Negmatulloev (80 kg), Parviz Karimov (92 kg), and Jahon Kurbanov (+92 kg).
The Men’s World Boxing Championships will be held from October 24 through November 6 in Belgrade.
According to the International Amateur Boxing Association (AIBA), 650 athletes from 105 countries will be taking part in the championships.
The athletes will be accompanied by coaches Mirzo Shamsiev and Khurshed Juraev. Mansur Muhiddinov will also referee in competitions.
For the first time in the history of world boxing, the championship will be held in 13 weight categories.
Winners and awardees will also receive significant prizes. The prize pool for the 2021 World Boxing Championships is set at $2.6 million. Gold medalists in each weight category will receive $100,000, silver medalists will get $50,000, and bronze medalists will be awarded $25,000.
