Central Asian and EU FMs Discuss the Afghan Situation

DUSHANBE, 22.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the meeting of the foreign ministers of Central Asian countries and the European Union was held in Dushanbe.
The ministers discussed the continuation of extensive and fruitful cooperation between Central Asian and the European countries with the focus on the consequences of the pandemic.
The meeting also focused on the current state of relations and prospects for strengthening cooperation between Central Asia and the European Union in the political, trade-economic, water and energy, security, fight against terrorism and extremism, environment, and climate change.
While discussing security issues, the parties paid special attention to the situation in Afghanistan. They also emphasized the fruitful joint efforts of the parties in the protection of the border between the countries of the region and Afghanistan through the implementation of the BOMCA/CADAP programs.
