Tajik and Russian FMs Discuss the Killing of Tajik Citizens in Irkutsk

DUSHANBE, 26.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Muhriddin had a telephone conversation with his Russian counterpart Sergei Lavrov.
The ministers discussed the incident that occurred on November 12 in the Zalari village of the Zalarinsky district of the Russian Irkutsk region, as a result of which Tajik citizens were killed.
Muhriddin drew Lavrov’s attention to the need for a thorough investigation of this incident and punishment of perpetrators of the crime.
The officials agreed to take this issue under the special control of the Tajik and Russian foreign ministries.
The ministers also discussed the state and prospects of Tajik-Russian interaction.
They exchanged views on certain issues of cooperation between the two countries within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, with an emphasis on implementing the decisions of the Dushanbe session of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
