DUSHANBE, 26.11.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, with the support of the government of Tajikistan, a solemn ceremony was held on the occasion of the beginning of the provision of humanitarian aid by the World Food Program (WFP) to Afghanistan.
The aid consisting of 2,500 tons of wheat flour will be transported to the Badakhshan province of Afghanistan through checkpoints on the Tajik-Afghan border.
The transfer of aid will take place at a time when the population of Afghanistan, in particular residents of remote mountainous regions, with the approach of winter cold weather, have limited access to food.
Currently, international organizations and donor countries do not have access to these regions.
In this regards, Tajikistan intends to provide its territory for the transportation of humanitarian cargo.
