Tajikistan and India Stress the Need to Revitalize the Work of the Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group

DUSHANBE, 20.12.2021 (NIAT Khovar) – As part of his official visit to New Delhi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirojiddin Muhriddin met with the Speaker of the Lok Sabha, the Lower House of the Indian Parliament Om Birla.
While praising the current state of inter-parliamentary relations, Birla stressed the need to further expand, and strengthen the legal framework, revive the work of the inter-parliamentary friendship group, and exchange official delegations to discuss priority issues of mutual interest.
Muhriddin emphasized the importance of deepening relations between the parliaments of the two countries to facilitate the expansion of cooperation in politics, economy, trade, and medicine, and to exchange experiences, as well as to increase educational scholarships.
The parties also exchanged views on the prospects of bilateral relations within the framework of regional and international organizations.
