Tajikistan and Turkey Will Hold an Online Meeting for Cooperation in Energy and Mining Industries

DUSHANBE, 20.01.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Turkey Ashrafjon Gulov met with the Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkey Alparslan Bayraktar.
The parties exchanged views on the current state of cooperation and further steps to enhance it in the fields of energy and mining, particularly in the framework of the Tajik-Turkish Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation.
Ambassador Gulov noted that energy is one of the priority sectors of the economy of Tajikistan. Taking into account the rich water resources and the capacity for generating electricity in amount of 527 billion kWh, the sector attracts the attention of foreign investors. Moreover, Tajikistan is one of the world leaders in the field of water resources.
The parties also agreed to organize virtual meetings in the near future to obtain additional information on investment opportunities in Tajikistan, as a result of which they will send their business delegations to Tajikistan and Turkey.
