Tourism Potential of Tajikistan Presented in Expo 2020 Dubai

DUSHANBE, 18.01.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The tourist week of Tajikistan began on January 9 as part of the Expo 2020 Dubai and will last until January 22, reports the Committee for Tourism Development.
On January 16, Dubai hosted the forum Ecotourism in Tajikistan, which was attended by representatives of the Committee for Tourism Development, the Embassy of Tajikistan in the UAE, the Information and Service Center for Tourism Services, Tajik travel agencies and UAE tourism companies, as well as the general tourism community.
The event was organized by the Committee for Tourism Development in collaboration with the Embassy of Tajikistan in the UAE and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
First Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Tourism Development Habibullo Amirbekzoda and Ambassador of Tajikistan to the UAE Bahodur Sharifi told the participants about Tajikistan’s ecological, historical, cultural, medical tourism opportunities.
Detailed information was provided about the introduction of an electronic visa system, the procedure for visa-free entry with 52 countries from January 1, 2022, the announcement of 2018 as the Year of Tourism and Folk Crafts, 2019-2021 as the Years of Rural Development, Tourism and Folk Crafts, and the recognition by the international community of the tourism industry of Tajikistan.
The participants were invited to visit the unique tourist sites of Tajikistan, get acquainted with the rich ancient history and culture, folk customs, mountains, clear waters, breathtaking landscapes of Tajikistan.
Following the event, the guests visited the pavilion of Tajikistan at Expo 2020, where they got acquainted with the sources of clean and healing waters, rare animals, history and culture, industrial and export potential, samples of industrial goods, investment opportunities and achievements of Tajikistan.
The event make way for cooperation agreements between domestic and foreign travel agencies and multiply foreign tourists from the region to Tajikistan.
According to the Embassy of Tajikistan in the UAE, since the opening of the Expo 2020, the pavilion of Tajikistan has been visited by more than 350,000 guests from around the world.
