Almaty Hosts Negotiations Between Delegations of the National Assembly of Tajikistan and the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan

DUSHANBE, 29.03.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Today, as part of a working visit to Almaty, Speaker of the National Assembly, Chairman of Dushanbe Rustam Emomali and the Chairperson of the Senate of the Parliament of Kazakhstan Maulen Ashimbayev held a meeting with the participation of delegations of the National Assembly and the Senate of the Parliament.
The meeting focused on the situation and prospects for the development of bilateral relations, including the expansion of inter-parliamentary ties.
On the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the Commonwealth of Independent States, the parties exchanged views on the significance of the activities of this organization and assessed its role in strengthening cooperation between the parliaments of the Commonwealth states.
Rustam Emomali noted that inter-parliamentary cooperation between Tajikistan and Kazakhstan will be intensified and further expanded with the signing of a cooperation agreement between the National Assembly and the Senate of the Parliament.
The parties also discussed a number of issues related to economic, cultural, and humanitarian cooperation.
It was noted that the volume of trade between the two states over the past year amounted to $1.2 billion, which compared to 2020 is an increase of 30%.
They noted the necessity to strengthen effective cooperation in priority socio-economic areas such as industry, energy, transport, communications, health care, education, culture, and tourism.
Today, Rustam Emomali together with the heads and members of the parliamentary delegations of the CIS member states also took part in the flower-laying ceremony at the Glory complex located in Park 28 Panfilov of Almaty.
