UN High Commissioner Praises Tajikistan for Implementing Refugee Related Measures

DUSHANBE, 18.03.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Minister of Internal Affairs Ramazon Rahimzoda met with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Filippo Grandi.
The meeting focused on ways to solve the problems related to the refugees from Afghanistan, ensuring law and order, and providing assistance to the Afghan citizens.
Rahimzoda noted that Tajikistan pays special attention to refugees and asylum seekers, takes the necessary measures to protect their rights, and ensure security in accordance with international standards.
Grandi noted his appreciation of the steps Tajikistan has taken for accommodating Afghan refugees.
