Dushanbe to Hold Forum of Tajik and Russian Investors

DUSHANBE, 19.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On April 28, Dushanbe will host the 28th Forum of Investors of Tajikistan and Russia. This was noted by the Ambassador of Tajikistan to Russia Davlatshoh Gulmahmadzoda at a meeting with the Chairman of the Board of the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and Industry Vladimir Katenev.
The meeting focused on the prospects of the development of trade, economic and investment cooperation, and the expansion of trade between the regions of Tajikistan and the city of St. Petersburg.
In 2021, the volume of trade between Tajikistan and Russia exceeded $1.3 billion, which is a record high over the past 10 years. Along with this, entrepreneurs of the republic sent products worth 72.5 million somoni to Russia.
According to the Russian trade representative in Tajikistan Yevgeny Korenkov, exports of goods increased by a record 77%, exceeding the level before the coronavirus pandemic.
Along with this, fruits, vegetables, and other food products, as well as raw materials from Tajikistan have become more popular in Russia. The export of these goods from Tajikistan increased 2.3 times over the year, amounting to almost 18% of exports.
Earlier, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Tajikistan reported that in the first two months of 2022, trade with the CIS countries increased by almost 50%.
The Ambassador of Tajikistan to Russia was on a working trip to St. Petersburg from April 12 through April 15.
