Tajikistan Intends to Increase the Export of Cement to 2 Million Tons

DUSHANBE, 18.04.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Tajikistan plans to increase cement exports to 2 million tons by 2024. According to the forecast of the main macroeconomic indicators of Tajikistan for 2022-2024, the annual growth of cement exports is projected at 200,000 tons. By that time, the volume of production of this building material is planned to be increased to 7 million tons.
The number of new production capacities and volume of cement production is growing every year. However, along with the growth of production, the internal demand for this building material is also increasing.
All domestic demand for cement, with the exception of colored cement, is met by domestic production.
Currently, 16 enterprises are engaged in the production of cement in Tajikistan, the annual capacity of which in total is estimated at 5.6 million tons.
Meanwhile, over 4.2 million tons of cement was produced in Tajikistan last year. According to statistics, annually about 1.5 million tons of the total cement produced is exported to neighboring countries.
