DUSHANBE, 30.05.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – On May 30, within his official visit to Tehran, the Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the First Vice President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Dr. Mohammad Mokhber.
A wide range of issues in Tajik-Iranian relations were discussed during the meeting.
At the beginning of the talks, President Rahmon stressed that the importance of expanding mutually beneficial cooperation with the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the meeting the sides expressed satisfaction with the 30-year anniversary of establishment of diplomatic relations and considered it necessary to implement the previously reached agreements and ensure their practical implementation.
The current state and further development of bilateral cooperation in political, economic, trade, cultural, and humanitarian spheres were discussed at the meeting.
The sides expressed interest in the implementation of the long-term program of economic and trade cooperation until 2030, which was signed following Tajik – Iranian summit talks, as well as intensification of the work of the Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between the two nations.
The establishment of joint ventures in the fields of light and food industries, metallurgy, mining, machinery, chemical, pharmaceuticals, glass and tile were named as other mutually beneficial areas for both countries.
It was stressed that the development of cooperation in the processing of cotton, leather, wool, and silk, as well as carpet weaving, the establishment of joint ventures for processing fruits and vegetables, salt, vegetable oil, and drinking water will also be in the interests of both parties.
Cooperation in the fields of animal husbandry, poultry, and fishery was another useful area for the development of relations.
During the meeting the sides also exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in the fields of health, tourism and health tourism.
