DUSHANBE, 16.05.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon met with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the CSTO Summit in Moscow.
Issues of further strengthening strategic partnership between Tajikistan and Russia within the CIS, CSTO and other regional and international organisations were discussed.
President Rahmon called today’s meeting a good opportunity to consider the prospects for cooperation between the two countries.
The counterparts expressed satisfaction with the current state and of steady development of bilateral and multifaceted cooperation.
They considered the possibility of using the untapped opportunities for the economic sectors and the intensification of the work of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation.
They further discussed the expansion of security collaboration between the two nations and exchanged opinions on some topics on regional and international agenda, including the current political situation in Afghanistan and ensuring security in the CSTO responsible zone.
