Iran’s Minister of Energy Notes Global Importance of Dushanbe Water Conference

DUSHANBE, 08.06.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirodjidin Muhriddin met with the Minister of Energy of Iran Aliakbar Mehrabiyan, who is serving as the co-chair of Joint Commission on Trade, Economic, Technical and Cultural Cooperation between Tajikistan and Iran. Mehrabiyan is in Dushanbe to attend the Second International High-Level Conference on the International Decade for Action “Water for Sustainable Development, 2018-2028.”
The parties exchanged views on the importance of President Emomali Rahmon’s global water initiatives, prospects for the development of bilateral multifaceted mutually rewarding cooperation between the two countries, as well as effective ways of implementing the agreements reached during President Rahmon’s recent official visit to Iran.
Mehrabiyan expressed the importance of the conference for the international community and praised the Tajik side for holding this event at a high level.
