DUSHANBE, 23.08.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Yesterday, Speaker of the National Assembly Mahmadtoir Zokirzoda met with Korean delegation led by the Special Envoy of the President, member of the National Assembly Suh Byung-soo.

Zokirzoda stated that Tajikistan is pleased with the achievements of the Republic of Korea.

“Given the possibility of solving urgent political, economic and social issues of Tajikistan through expanding cooperation with the Republic of Korea, relations between the two countries are becoming increasingly important day by day. This trend will continue in the near future,” he stressed.

Regarding bilateral cooperation, Zokirzoda added that the experience of the Republic of Korea on the introduction of modern information and communication technologies in various socio-economic and cultural fields can be studied and used by the relevant structures of Tajikistan.

The Speaker of the National Assembly especially noted the increase in educational scholarships for Tajik students within the framework of the scholarship program of the government of South Korea (Global Korean Scholarship).

Also, on this day, the Chairman of the Committee of the National Assembly for International Affairs, Public Associations and Information Saidmurod Fattohzoda met with Korean delegation.

The meeting focused on various aspects of multilateral relations between Tajikistan and the Republic of Korea.

The parties paid much attention to the expansion of inter-parliamentary, trade, economic and investment cooperation.
