Meeting of the Government of Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 29.09.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity, Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon chaired a government meeting on September 29.
The meeting focused on the implementation of the constitutional law on local bodies of state power and the law on self-governing bodies of towns and villages. The head of Shahritus district of Khatlon Province Ghaffor Jabbari presented a report on the matter.
He emphasized that Shahritus is a subsidized district which gets 20 million somoni annually from the republican budget. Its budget for the first six months of 2022, including for social tax, was reached by 103.6%, amounting to over 28.6 million somoni.
Within the Shahritus Socio-Economic Development Program for 2021-2025, out of 94 planned projects, 38 projects worth 54.4 million somoni have already been implemented. Seven investment projects worth $2.3 million are currently being implemented in Shahritus.
Speaking at the meeting, President Rahmon instructed the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade together with other relevant ministries and agencies to develop a draft forecast of the country’s macroeconomic indicators for 2024 and its main parameters for 2025-2026 and submit them for consideration to the government by June 1, 2023.
Government members also discussed the bills which will be submitted to the Assembly of Representatives for consideration, including the draft laws on the international agreements of the Republic of Tajikistan, on insurance of savings of physical persons, on legal acts, on perpetuating the memory of those who died defending the country, on liquidation of credit institutions, on television and radio broadcasting, and on the patriotic education of citizens.
The strategy for the development of “green” economy in Tajikistan designed for 2023-2037 and the strategy for the development of artificial intelligence for the period up to 2040, on the program for the development of private preschool and general education institutions for 2022-2027 were also discussed during the meeting.
