President Emomali Rahmon Attended Extraordinary Meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council

DUSHANBE, 28.10.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon took part via videoconference in an extraordinary meeting of the CSTO Collective Security Council.
Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, President of Russia Vladimir Putin, and CSTO Secretary General Stanislav Zas attended the meeting.
CSTO member nation’s leaders heard the report of the Secretary General regarding the results of the CSTO work in the Republic of Armenia from September 15 to 24, 2022.
The importance of strengthening political and diplomatic measures to stabilize and improve the situation in the CSTO zone, in particular in the Caucasus, following trilateral statements of the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan, was emphasized.
While reaffirming the determination of Tajikistan to continue to follow its allied obligations within the CSTO, President Rahmon noted the need to take effective measures to further develop crisis response capability within the CSTO.
Following the session, the heads of state issued instructions to the Council of Foreign Ministers to continue working on a set of measures to assist the CSTO in stabilizing the situation on the Armenian-Azeri border.
