Tajik Delegation Attends Discussion of the Implementation of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora

DUSHANBE, 29.11.2022 (NIAT Khovar) – Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Environmental Protection Mavlodod Abdulkodir attended the 19th Conference of the Parties to the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES), which was held from November 14 through November 25 in Panama.
The event focused on issues between the countries related to the implementation of this Convention on the protection of wild animals and wild plants and their international trade, as well as issues related to the implementation of environmental policy coordination at the regional and international levels.
The delegation of Tajikistan voiced the position of the country on a number of issues of the international and regional agenda in the field of international trade in wild fauna and flora.
The delegation also held a number of bilateral meetings with representatives of the International Council for Hunting and Wildlife Conservation, the Secretariat of CITES, delegations of the European Union, the U.S. and others.
Participation of the representatives of Tajikistan allowed to strengthen cooperation with the Secretariat of the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, as well as to expand international cooperation in attracting foreign investment and implementation of new projects.
